Apps built for your business.

Sound familiar?

  • A store has business logic that cannot be handled cleanly by theme code.
  • Third-party apps get close but add operational friction or too much storefront weight.
  • The team needs a small, purpose-built tool instead of a broad SaaS product.

What I can help with.

How I approach it.

  • Confirm whether a custom app is truly needed before adding backend complexity.
  • Keep app responsibilities narrow so the system remains easier to maintain.
  • Design integrations around clear failure modes, logging needs, and operational workflows.
Technical details

Custom apps are useful when the requirement needs authenticated Shopify API access, background processing, webhooks, or custom business rules.

When a feature is mostly presentational, theme-native implementation is often faster and lighter.

Before we build.

What kind of Shopify apps do you build?

I build focused custom apps for a merchant or internal team, including embedded admin tools, webhook-driven workflows, backend services, integrations, and storefront features that need secure API access. Public App Store products need a separate scope for billing, distribution, compliance, and review.

Will we own the code?

Yes. The normal handover includes the project repository, setup and deployment notes, and documentation for the workflows the app controls. Hosting, monitoring, and ongoing support are agreed before development starts.

How do you decide whether we need an app?

I first check whether Shopify, the theme, Flow, Functions, or an existing app can solve the requirement cleanly. A custom app is justified when the work needs authenticated APIs, background processing, webhooks, a custom admin interface, or business rules that do not belong in theme code.

What happens after launch?

The launch plan covers testing, logging, failure handling, deployment ownership, and a support period appropriate to the app. For integrations, we also document the source of truth and what the team should do when an external service is unavailable.
